ASH Bridge Grant Impact over the years. 205 researchers funded since 2-13. 25 researchers funded in 2025 with $3.75 million. Nearly $25 million in funding.

Expanding ASH Bridge Grants

In 2025, ASH responded to the altered landscape for U.S. National Institutes of Health extramural research funding by expanding eligibility for the ASH Bridge Grant program. ASH’s investment led to 25 awardees, supporting five times as many researchers as in previous years. (In 2026, the Award for Research Careers in Hematology (ARCH) is succeeding the ASH Bridge Grant program.)

Learn More About ARCH

“This generous grant is an investment in both people and discovery. It gives us the opportunity to generate the pivotal data needed to strengthen and resubmit a major NIH grant proposal — accelerating our path toward new insights and innovations to maintain blood cell function with age and extend the immune health span.”

Marking 40 Years of the ASH Scholar Award

Since 1985, the ASH Scholar Award has provided financial support to 650+ researchers during what can be a difficult transition: the period between the completion of training and the establishment of an independent career. ASH’s increased investment in 2025 allowed for an additional 20 such awards, for a total of 53 that year.

Learn More About the ASH Scholar Award

280 Scholar award recipients have received 500+ other ASH awards. See long description for details.

“This award has been transformative for my research and career development, providing crucial stability and support during a pivotal phase of my professional journey. The ASH Scholar Award has not only enabled me to advance my work in myeloid neoplasms but has also reinforced my connection to the broader hematology community.”
