Promoting Research and Data
Through its peer-reviewed Blood journals, annual meeting, and other outlets, ASH leads the world in promoting hematology research that shapes patient care and drives the field forward. ASH is also helping to transform the study and practice of hematology itself, with an eye on enhancing the collection of and access to data and improving representation in research.
Publishing and Presenting Research
The expanded Blood journals portfolio offered clinicians and scientists an array of publishing opportunities, showcasing transformative research both online and in print — through more than 1,900 articles. The Compendium on Maternal Health, Second Edition was released, bringing together articles from the journals to highlight research and innovations that aim to close gaps in maternal health care.
The Blood journals portfolio continues to lead the field in terms of impact.

The Blood journals portfolio accounted for 25% of total 2024 citations indexed across 100 hematology journals in the 2025 edition of Journal Citation Reports.
Showcasing and Sharing Groundbreaking Research in Hematology
At the 67th ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition, scientists and clinicians came from 114 different countries to learn about the latest research in hematology and connect with the brightest minds in the field.
Amplifying Research
Throughout 2025, ASH provided multiple platforms to further highlight the influential research presented at its annual meeting.
Highlights of ASH
These meetings brought novel research that had been presented at the ASH annual meeting to hematologists in North America; the Mediterranean, Middle East, and North Africa; Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.
The Hematologist
Through its regular Diffusion articles and features, the publication offered insights and analysis about important research in its 12 monthly issues.
ASH Clinical News
The magazine published 13 issues and received three editorial awards in 2025, including a Communicator Award of Excellence for an article on portrayals of sickle cell disease in the media.
ASH Journal Club
A monthly interactive virtual series, the club highlighted seminal papers published in the Blood journals.
ASH News Daily
ASH News Daily, the official newspaper of the ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition, highlights each day’s sessions and events. ASH News Daily contains coverage of the four official days of each year's annual meeting in December, plus preview and wrap-up content.
ASH News TV
ASH News TV is a daily newscast in video format featuring previews and highlights from each day of the annual meeting. ASH News TV can be viewed in select hotels’ guest rooms, on the shuttle buses, in various locations at the convention center, on the virtual meeting platform, and on the ASH website.
Transforming and Advancing Hematology Research
The ASH Research Collaborative (ASH RC) built on its mission to transform hematology research by increasing access to high-quality clinical data. It released the first Sickle Cell Disease Data Hub Report, offering a view into the real-world experiences of more than 10,000 individuals living with SCD. Additionally, 10 abstracts using the ASH RC Data Hub were presented at the 2025 ASH Annual Meeting.
Pushing for Inclusive Clinical Trials
This year, ASH spearheaded a sign-on letter to the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, highlighting the importance of inclusive clinical trials. Twenty-one other organizations signed the letter, including the American Medical Association and the Council of Medical Specialty Societies.
Developing Duffy-associated Neutrophil Count (DANC) Resources
ASH led a comprehensive research project to develop adult and pediatric reference ranges for absolute neutrophil count (ANC) for those who have the Duffy-null blood type, with initial data published at the ASH annual meeting. In addition, ASH established a complementary Duffy-associated neutrophil count (DANC) webpage, which houses expert tools, printable resources, and case studies for real-world application.
