ASH Disabilities Concierge
Leading up to the meeting and while on-site in San Diego, ASH staff will check in periodically with meeting attendees on their meeting experience. In addition, if attendees need assistance during the meeting, they can contact [email protected] for anything they may need.
ADA Registration Counters
For attendees who decide to print their badge when they arrive in San Diego, there will be lower registration counters in all locations – at the airport, convention center, and the Marriot Marquis San Diego.
Accessible Transportation from the Airport to Your Hotel
The San Diego International Airport offers accessible transportation options from the airport to downtown hotels.
Public transportation via the Flyer Route No. 992, a bus that travels to and from the airport and downtown San Diego, is available and can be boarded outside baggage claim in Terminals 1 and 2. For more information, visit https://www.sdmts.com/getting-around/airport to read about Route 992.
Taxi and other shuttle services are available. Proceed to curbside outside baggage claim in both terminals and speak with an Airport Traffic Officer.
The San Diego International Airport offers additional assistance through its Airport Ambassador program. To ensure a safe and successful trip, ambassadors are available in both terminals and can assist in obtaining accessible transportation. Contact ambassadors in Terminal 1 by calling 619-400-2261 or 619-400-2263; contact ambassadors in Terminal 2 by calling 619-400-2262 or 619-400-2264.
Accessible ASH Shuttle Vehicles
ASH has partnered with Kushner & Associates for wheelchair accessible shuttles from hotels to the convention center on the shuttle route. There will be no additional fee passed along to the participant for this service. Please make advance arrangements by phone by contacting Erika Hinzman at 310-274-8819, ext. 1005, or by email at [email protected]. If advance arrangements have not been made, participants can call or text the ASH Shuttle Hotline at 818-573-8346 starting at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, and through 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12.
Sessions and networking events will occur at the convention center and adjacent hotels. For those with mobility concerns, ASH recommends contacting Scootaround Mobility Services for scooter rental. These scooters may be used in between buildings and can be used to travel to and from a nearby hotel. The scooters may be charged in the hallway or guest room overnight. Scooters may be driven into session rooms and parked in open spaces near the front or back of the session room. Please reserve at least two weeks in advance, if possible, by calling 888-441-7575. ASH staff are available upon request to provide a hands-on orientation to elevator locations and utilizing the scooters in crowded hallways.
Enhanced ASH Campus Map
This year the ASH Campus Map, which is provided in attendees’ meeting bags, will include additional details about elevator locations at the convention center, accessible pathways to and from the convention center and adjacent hotels, including crosswalks with visible and audible indicators to assist attendees crossing the street.
