The ASH HONORS (Hematology Opportunities for the Next Generation of Research Scientists) Award contributes to the development of the next generation of hematologists by providing research funding for talented first-, second-, and third-year medical students and first- and second-year medical residents and by encouraging them to continue research careers in hematology beyond medical school and residency. Applicants may choose to apply for one of the following project options:
- Summer project: to be conducted over a maximum of three months
- Flexible project: to be conducted over a span of three to 12 months
Program participants receive a $5,000 stipend to support their work on a hematology-related research project, as well as a $1,000 travel allowance each year for two years to support attendance at the ASH annual meeting, starting with the year the award is received.
