Access Programs for Interferon alfa-2b

Drug Company Assistance

The Merck Helps website assists qualified patients receive free or discounted medications through several patient assistance programs.

Interferon alfa-2b is offered under the Merck Access Program. Uninsured patients who meet income criteria; reside in the US, Puerto Rico, or the US Virgin Islands; and are receiving treatment by a licensed doctor in the US or Puerto Rico must download the Merck Access Enrollment Form, fill it out, and fax it to 855-755-0518. Note that the form includes sections to be filled out by both the patient and the healthcare provider.

In general, patients will qualify for the program if they have a household income of less than $55,850 for individuals, $75,650 for couples, or $115,250 for a family of four. In some cases, exceptions can be made for patients who have insurance coverage but meet other financial hardship criteria.

Foundation Assistance

The Health Well Foundation provides grants for patients with insurance who have trouble affording interferon alfa-2b. Patients or providers can apply online or call 1-800-675-8416 to speak with a representative.

The Patient Access Network Foundation also offers co-pay assistance for patients needing interferon alfa-2b. Please read the application instructions,and then follow the prompts on the online application.
