Urge Your Members of Congress to Prevent Medicare Payment Cuts

ASH needs your help to urge your Representative to prevent significant cuts to Medicare payments for physician services. Unless Congress acts, several Medicare payment reductions will take effect on January 1, 2022, potentially resulting in a combined 9.75% payment cut for physician services. This would directly impact Medicare patients’ ability to access care moving forward and comes at a time when physician practices are still recovering from the personal and financial impacts of the COVID-19 public health emergency.

Representatives Ami Bera, MD (D-CA) and Larry Bucshon, MD (R-IN) are currently circulating a “Dear Colleague” asking their colleagues to co-sign a letter urging House leaders to seek long-term reform to bring stability to the Medicare payment system and, as a first step, extend the 3.75% increase to the Medicare conversion factor that Congress included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 to provide continued stability to the physician and provider community as it works toward broader Medicare payment reform.

A significant number of bipartisan cosigners on the letter will strongly demonstrate to House leadership that these payment cuts need to be addressed via legislation before the end of 2021. Fill in your information below to quickly send a message to urge your member of Congress to sign the Bera-Bucshon letter and help prevent cuts to Medicare payments.
