Committee Mandate
The Women in Hematology Subcommittee (under the auspices of the Committee on Advancing Excellence and Population Health) is charged with addressing the career and leadership development needs of women in the field of hematology. The subcommittee examines existing ASH programming as well as opportunities for enhanced efforts on behalf of female hematologists and makes consensus-based recommendations to the ASH Executive Committee.
The Women in Hematology Subcommittee is composed of a cross section of ASH members representing relevant committees, including a current member of the ASH Executive Committee as well as the Trainee Council who serves as a liaison member for a term congruent with service on the parent committee. The co-chairs of the subcommittee serve a three-year renewable term and members serve staggered two-year terms.
Members of the Women in Hematology Subcommittee are required to participate in virtual meetings and email discussions.
The co-chairs of the Women in Hematology Subcommittee serve as liaison members of the Committee on Advancing Excellence and Population Health and are expected to attend the meetings of that committee.
