Committee Mandate

The Highlights of ASH (HOA) Steering Subcommittee, a subcommittee of the Committee on Educational Affairs (CEA), is responsible for identifying HOA program topics, chairs, and speakers, certifying the quality of the meeting series, and ensuring that the program evolves in response to feedback from participants, partner organizations, the CEA and ASH leadership, and other stakeholders. The HOA Steering Subcommittee makes recommendations to the CEA on programs or actions in its purview.

The HOA Steering Subcommittee is also responsible for reviewing the ASH-branded online programs that summarize the ASH annual meeting (i.e., ASH Compact, ASH Live Review, and ASH Today) that are developed for hematologists outside the United States.

The membership of the HOA Steering Subcommittee includes:

·         1 Chair – 2-year term

·         3 former HOA speakers – staggered 3-year terms

·         3 leaders heavily involved in planning of current year’s annual meeting (generally including the two Education Program Co-Chairs) – 1-year term

·         1 liaison from the Committee on Practice – term congruent with service on parent committee

·         1 liaison from the International Members Committee – term congruent with service on parent committee

Members of the HOA Steering Subcommittee are required to participate in conference calls and email discussions throughout the year.
