Committee Mandate
The Hematology Education Roadmap and Curriculum Subcommittee – a subcommittee of the Committee on Educational Affairs – establishes, coordinates, and reviews the development and maintenance of (1) a hematology taxonomy to classify ASH offerings across platforms and (2) a competency-based curriculum for hematologists in training.
The chair and members of the Hematology Education Roadmap and Curriculum Subcommittee serve two-year, renewable terms with the option for renewal. The structure of the subcommittee may consist of current or former members of the Committee on Educational Affairs, Medical Education Subcommittee, Trainee Council, Medical Educators Institute Working Group, and Hematology Review Series Task Force, or other members who offer expertise in medical education and curriculum development. Composition of the subcommittee shall be flexible to allow additional members with expertise in keeping with the progression of its goals.
If not already a member of the Committee on Educational Affairs, the chair of the Hematology Education Roadmap and Curriculum Subcommittee serves as a liaison member of the Committee on Educational Affairs for a term congruent with service on the subcommittee and is expected to attend the meeting(s) of that committee.
Members of the Hematology Education Roadmap and Curriculum Subcommittee are required to participate in conference calls and email discussions throughout the year and meet in person as deemed necessary.
