ASH Launches Networking Hub and Knowledge Center for Entrepreneurs
ASH IGNITE will connect hematology entrepreneurs with business resources, tools, and networking opportunities
(WASHINGTON, September 24, 2025) - The American Society of Hematology (ASH) has launched ASH IGNITE (Innovation, Guidance, Networking, Investment, Translation, Entrepreneurship), a digital platform that aims to bridge the gap between hematology innovation and commercialization.
“Hematology has been a fast-moving field with enormous progress. Yet, hematologists face challenges bringing their innovations to patients,” said Belinda Avalos, MD, ASH president. “ASH IGNITE will provide our members with the resources, connections, and knowledge they need to navigate the complex path to move from innovation to market. Ultimately, we want to support hematology entrepreneurs who have the next great idea that will bring new treatments to patients living with blood disorders.”
ASH IGNITE has two primary components, a knowledge center and a networking hub. The knowledge center contains a repository of curated resources organized into 14 different topics, covering everything from idea validation and pitch development to exit strategies. These resources are specifically tailored for life science innovators.
The networking hub helps connect innovators with investors and other like-minded entrepreneurs. The platform includes discussion boards that can help innovators connect with their peers for input, regardless of the stage they are at. Catalysts, or potential investors, can access the networking platform to connect with researchers who have vetted ideas.
“Many scientists, clinicians, and researchers don’t feel adequately prepared as entrepreneurs and may not have the time to find reliable information about how to get started,” said Ross Levine, MD, chair of the ASH IGNITE Task Force. “ASH IGNITE aims to fill that gap.”
ASH IGNITE is available to hematologists interested in innovation and entrepreneurship. Investors may join the networking platform.
The American Society of Hematology (ASH) (hematology.org) is the world’s largest professional society of hematologists dedicated to furthering the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders affecting the blood. Since 1958, the Society has led the development of hematology as a discipline by promoting research, patient care, education, training, and advocacy in hematology. Join the #Fight4Hematology by visiting hematology.org/fight4hematology.
The Blood journals (https://ashpublications.org/journals) are the premier source for basic, translational, and clinical hematologic research. The Blood journals publish more peer-reviewed hematology research than any other academic journals worldwide.
