The ASH Foundation is a part of the American Society of Hematology, which is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational institution. Donations are tax-deductible as allowable by law.
Individuals qualify to receive an invitation to the President’s Reception during the ASH Annual Meeting & Exposition through various criteria, one of which is personal, cumulative philanthropy in the amount of $2,500 or more during the twelve month period of December 1 in the prior year to November 30 of the current year. Invitations to the ASH President’s Reception are for that year only and do not confer an invitation in subsequent years. As is the case with all charitable gifts to the ASH Foundation, one hundred percent goes directly to the ASH program designated by the donor; ASH Foundation donations have never been used to subsidize the President’s Reception.
The deductible portion of your contribution is limited to the excess of the amount contributed over the value of goods or services provided by the Foundation. The fair market value of the 2022 President's Reception is $178.52 per person (i.e., $357.04 for an invited person plus his/her guest). The fair market value of the 2022 Honorific Reception is $67.44 per person (i.e., $134.88 for an invited person plus his/her guest).
