HIP Mentor Matching Program

Finding the right mentor can shape your research experience and future career. Through the ASH Hematology Inclusion Pathway (HIP) Mentor Matching Program, applicants to the HIP Medical Student Award and HIP Resident Award who have not yet identified a research mentor can be matched with experienced hematology investigators and preestablished research projects.

The Mentor Matching Program is designed to reduce barriers to research participation by connecting aspiring physician-scientists with mentors who are committed to fostering the next generation of leaders in hematology. Applicants who choose to participate in the Mentor Matching Program are considered for placement with a research mentor based on their interests and the availability of mentor-led projects.

Hip Mentors

Awardees who are successfully matched receive financial support to conduct hematology-focused research under the guidance of their research mentor. In addition to their research experience, participants are paired with a career development mentor who provides ongoing guidance, professional development, and support throughout medical training and residency.
