2026 President: Robert Negrin, MD
Robert Negrin, MD is a Professor of Medicine at Stanford University. As a renowned physician-scientist, Dr. Negrin has made significant research contributions in the areas of hematopoietic cell transplantation, cellular immunology, and immune system regulation. He is also deeply committed to training the next generation of physicians and scientists.
Under his leadership, ASH will continue to champion advocacy efforts around the Fight4Hematology, which aims to protect hematology research and advances in patient care in the face of federal actions that threaten federal research funding and access to care.
Dr. Negrin is passionate about supporting the careers of young hematologists and is a vocal champion of programs like ASH’s Hematology Inclusion Pathway (HIP), a comprehensive 13-year longitudinal career pathway of awards that strives to ensure hematology reflects and serves the world we live in, and ASH’s Scholar Award, which supports the careers of hematologists between training and independent investigative work.
Dr. Negrin has been a member of ASH for 33 years and has served in various leadership roles. He was the inaugural editor-in-chief of Blood Advances and an associate editor of Blood. He has served as an ad hoc member of the Executive Committee and as chair of the Scientific Committee on Transplant Biology and Cellular Therapies.
