The ASH-Amos Institute for Medical Faculty Development
The Amos Institute for Medical Faculty Development (AIMFD) seeks to develop future leaders who reflect a wide breadth of lived experience to inspire and mentor others, advance biomedical sciences, and transform healthcare to improve health for all people. ASH has partnered with the AIMFD on the ASH – AIMFD for hematology researchers.
The ASH – AIMFD, part of the Hematology Inclusion Pathway program, offers four years of postdoctoral research support including an annual grant to support research activities, the support of a Scientific Advisory Group of Experts mentor, complimentary ASH membership, and a stipend to support attendance at both the ASH and award annual meetings for the continuing four years.

The ASH-AIMFD provides four years of mentored research training, a contribution toward salary and research costs, a supportive environment for professional growth and leadership training, and access to a national network of investigators in all fields of medical research. Applicants apply in conjunction with a mentor or mentors at their local institutions. Once in the program, each awardee’s research is overseen by a member of the AIMFD’s Scientific Advisory Group of Experts whose research interests align with theirs. Applicants must have the support of a mentor or mentors, preferably at their home institutions, as well as institutional support. The application requires undergraduate and graduate transcripts, three letters of reference, and the answers to several questions regarding research experience and career goals. Applications are evaluated on relevance to the field of hematology, potential for innovation, and the applicant’s commitment to a research career and the goals of the program.
