Diagnosis of Iron Deficiency
(ASH) has issued new clinical guidance to improve how iron deficiency (ID) is recognized and diagnosed across key populations, including adults, young children, menstruating and pregnant individuals, and people with inflammation. These evidence-based guidelines address long-standing challenges in diagnosing ID, including variation in testing practices and inconsistent thresholds, especially those for ferritin levels.
ALL in Adolescents and Young Adults
In recent years, recognition of the complex and variable management of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in adolescents and young adults (AYAs), often drawing on both pediatric- and adult- inspired approaches, has highlighted the need for AYA-specific guidance.
Immune Thrombocytopenia
The 2026 ASH guidelines focus on initial and second-line therapy for adults with primary ITP and provide evidence-based recommendations to support treatment decision-making.
