Alison Loren, MD

Dr. Loren is chief of the division of hematology/oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine and director of Blood and Marrow Transplantation at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania. As a clinician, she is deeply committed to improving access to and outcomes of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation and long-term survivorship, including fertility preservation and reproductive health in cancer survivors.

Dr. Loren has been a devoted member of ASH, as demonstrated by her nearly 20 years of service to the Society on a range of committees, with particular emphasis on the education and training of hematologists. Dr. Loren has most recently served as a councillor on ASH’s Executive Committee (2020-2023), co-chair of the ASH Annual Meeting Education Program (2021), and as an appointed member of the Hematology-Focused Fellowship Steering Committee (2020). She also served on the Committee on Training (2009-2018), Training Awards Subcommittee (2013-2015), and various award study sections.
