ASH Letter to HHS re RFI on Categories Used in Federal Vaccine Recommendations

In its September 18, 2026, comments to HHS, the American Society of Hematology (ASH) urges the agency to retain existing vaccine recommendation categories and reserve shared clinical decision-making for situations where individual benefits and risks genuinely vary—not simply where vaccination timing or administration requires tailoring. ASH also calls for clear, evidence-based guidance identifying high-risk hematology patients, standardized revaccination recommendations, and safeguards preserving vaccine access, insurance coverage, and legal protections.
