The Johns Hopkins Hematology Fellowship Track is one of the longest-standing hematology focused fellowship training programs in the United States. Since its creation in 2005, we have recruited the best and brightest fellows to pursue their passions in academic hematology, and we are proud of our exceptional record in training hematologists to become leaders in their fields.
With this ASH HFFTP Award, our Hematology Track is excited to offer a new Sickle Cell Pathway to provide trainees with comprehensive clinical and research training in sickle cell disease. This Pathway affirms our strong commitment to serving our local Baltimore sickle cell disease community. Fellows will obtain academic training through the internationally-renowned Johns Hopkins Sickle Cell Center for Adults, which has served as a model of sickle cell care throughout the world. This innovative, flexible Pathway will also allow fellows to customize their training by obtaining dual-certification in Transfusion Medicine or Pediatric Hematology-Oncology (for med/peds trained applicants).
This ASH HFFTP Sickle Cell Pathway will expand the training opportunities available to our Hematology Track fellows. We will now offer 3 Hematology Track fellowship slots per year. We can’t wait to add to our growing Johns Hopkins Hematology family!
