International Members Committee Announces Visiting Trainee Program

The ASH International Members Committee (IMC) is now accepting applications for its new Visiting Trainee Program. This program was created to provide scientists and hematologists in developing countries an opportunity to gain valuable clinical experience, technological training, or laboratory experience. Applicants to this program will need to identify a site and host for their proposed short-term clinical or laboratory experience, provide a letter of approval from the recipient organization, and give a clear statement of the topic or goal of the training program. Applicants will also need to explain why this experience cannot be obtained in their own country as well as what infrastructure is available and how the knowledge will be used. Applications became available on the ASH Web site on January 15th. The deadline to apply for this program is April 1, 2004.

For more information about the Visiting Trainee Program, please visit the ASH Web site or e-mail LaFaundra Neville.
