Welcome to The Hematologist: News and Reports for the ASH Member
Andrew Schafer, MD, Founding Editor-in-Chief
Welcome to The Hematologist. The publication is so entitled to encompass the broad constituency of ASH, ranging from basic scientists to practicing clinicians, all dedicated to working on disorders of blood and thereby embracing the marvelous field of hematology. We developed this publication to serve as an informative and educational year-round communication vehicle with the membership of ASH. It combines some of the features of the former ASH News, to deliver items of newsworthy importance, with concise educational columns that highlight hot topics in hematology.
An outstanding editorial
board guides the publication of lively features that should appeal to the
diverse interests of ASH members. The brevity of our columns is intended to
respect the extraordinary competing time demands that most of our readers increasingly
experience; at the same time, we provide easily accessible links to other sources
for more in-depth information. We welcome your feedback
and suggestions for how we can improve the usefulness of The Hematologist.
