2006 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Now Available

November 3, 2005 – The 2006 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule is now available CMS Web site, with publication expected in the Federal Register on November 21. Highlights for ASH members include a 4.4% decrease in reimbursement rates for physician services and an extension of the chemotherapy demonstration that includes significant changes. A more thorough analysis will be available shortly.

CMS representatives indicated on November 3 that the agency is prepared to implement rapid changes pending Congressional decisions related to the physician fee schedule update. Click S. 1932 to view the budget reconciliation bill.
