The American Society of Hematology Associate membership
is designed for post-doctoral fellows who reside in either
Canada, Mexico, or the United States of America and are enrolled in
an approved hematology or oncology training program. The
annual fee is reduced to $50 and the Associate membership
includes:
a subscription to Blood,
the official journal of the American Society of Hematology, which is published 24 times per year, in two
volumes per month;
- the Blood Supplement containing the proceedings
(including abstracts) of the Society's annual meeting; and
- a waiver of Society dues and assessments.
Term: Post-doctoral fellows with an MD or an equivalent medical degree who reside in Canada, Mexico, or the United States and are enrolled in an approved hematology or oncology training program are eligible for Associate membership. Students who receive a PhD degree, are within 4 years of having attained the PhD, and are in a post-doctoral position or a training program in a hematology and/or oncology-related field are also eligible for Associate membership. Associate membership concludes the December following completion of the fellowship program or after a maximum of four years, whichever comes first. Subsequently, the Associate membership is automatically converted to the Society’s Active member status.
Publications : While applications are considered on a continuous
basis, all ASH memberships run on a calendar year; therefore,
once approved, Associate members will receive Blood and The Hematologist beginning with the current issues.

Review: Associate membership applications are reviewed on
a rolling basis and notification of the membership decision will be sent
to the applicant two to three weeks after a completed application is received.
