The American Society of Hematology
50th Annual Meeting and Exposition
Meeting: December 6-9, 2008
Moscone Convention Center
San Francisco, CA
Held annually in December, the Society's annual meeting provides hematologists from around the world a forum for discussing critical issues in hematology. More than 21,000 clinicians, scientists, and others attend the four-day meeting, which consists of a superb educational program and cutting-edge scientific sessions. The annual meeting features oral and poster presentations that are chosen by peer-reviewers from abstracts submitted prior to the meeting and contain the latest and most exciting developments in scientific research. Plenary symposia and named lectures on specialized areas of hematology are also presented throughout the meeting program.
In honor of ASH's 50th anniversary, history will come alive during this year's annual meeting. In addition to ASH's educational and scientific sessions, the Society will host a number of special programs. Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to hear several world-renowned scientists speak about their life's work, and ASH will present a unique video project featuring many of the Society's past presidents along with other influential figures in hematology. In addition, there will be a "Taste of San Francisco" reception. Please join ASH this coming December in celebrating hematology's amazing history.
During the annual meeting, attendees can also visit the state-of-the-art exposition, which features exhibits from pharmaceutical companies, medical suppliers, clinical diagnostic and research-based companies, publishers, and nonprofit organizations.
