Public Transportation

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is a bus and rail system that connects all parts of Atlanta. A $1.75 fare covers one-way bus or train trips, including transfers. If you are coming from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, MARTA has a rail station located at the north end of the airport, near the baggage claim area.

MARTA also provides a quick and inexpensive way go between downtown Atlanta’s hotels and the Georgia World Congress Center. There are two MARTA stations located a few steps away from the convention center. For access to events in Buildings A and B, use the Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center Station (W-1). For access to events in Building C, use the W-1 station above, or use the Vine City Station (W-2). For more information on MARTA, visit www.itsmarta.com, or call 404-848-5158.

The Atlanta Link is a van service that offers routes between the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the downtown, midtown, and Buckhead areas. The Link also makes multiple stops at the Georgia World Congress Center, making it another convenient and affordable way for attendees to travel while in Atlanta. The cost of an Atlanta Link ride from the international airport to the downtown area is $16.50 one-way and $29 round-trip. To learn more about the Atlanta Link, visit www.theatlantalink.com, or contact the service at 404-524-3400 or info@theatlantalink.com. Attendees receive $2 off the round-trip fare when making an advance reservation online.

Atlanta’s airport is about a 15-minute taxi ride from the Georgia World Congress Center and taxi fare from the airport to downtown is a flat fee of $30 with a $2 charge for each additional person.

For detailed information regarding airport transportation, please refer to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at www.atlanta-airport.com, or visit the Web site of the Georgia World Congress Center at www.gwcc.com.

Parking Information

The Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) operates five surface lots and two parking decks. Parking rates are $10 or less for all-day parking. All lots are gated and attendants are on duty during all event hours; these parking areas are also patrolled to help ensure the safety of attendees and their vehicles. Emergency vehicle assistance is available for motorists in distress.

In addition, parking is available at the Green Lot located on Marietta Street at a rate of $3.00 per hour, and capped at $15.00. Drivers will receive a time-stamped ticket that they will give to the parking attendant along with their payment upon departure.

The GWCC offers a free shuttle service between these parking lots and decks and the convention center, making stops at the main entrances to the building. The shuttle makes continuous loops around the campus during the days of the meeting; look for Campus Courtesy Shuttle signs to catch a ride.

ASH Shuttle Bus Service

ASH will provide complimentary shuttle service between the participating hotels and the Georgia World Congress Center. Shuttle buses will run approximately every 10-20 minutes starting at noon on Thursday, December 6, and continuing each morning beginning at 6:30 a.m. through Tuesday, December 11, at 6:30 p.m. Each evening, shuttle buses will run until 9:30 p.m., except on Monday, when shuttles will run until 10:00 p.m. to accommodate those attending the ASH Bash. Look for shuttle bus schedules in your hotel lobby.

Attention International Travelers!

ASH encourages you to start your visa application process as soon as possible. Because of new U.S. State Department regulations, U.S. embassies and consulates may require a face-to-face visa interview for most non-immigrant visa applications. We encourage you to apply at least three to four months before the annual meeting. To schedule an interview for the visa application process, please contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. For more information, please visit www.state.gov/travelandbusiness.

To receive an invitation letter from ASH, please e-mail your complete name and mailing address to meetings@hematology.org.
