Annual Meeting Relocation FAQ
The 2005 ASH Annual Meeting, originally to be held in New Orleans, has been rescheduled for December 10-13 in Atlanta, Georgia, as a result of the devastating damage caused by Hurricane Katrina. Please note that this is one week later than the original meeting dates. The Corporate Friday sessions will take place on Friday, December 9.
Below are the answers to some of the questions you may be asking about what this means for your annual meeting plans and travel arrangements.
REGISTRATION
How does the relocation affect my annual meeting registration?
If you have already registered for the meeting and plan to attend the meeting in Atlanta, there is nothing further you need to do. Please do not register again.
I want to cancel my meeting registration. Will the cancellation fee be waived?
Registration cancellations must be submitted in writing by November 28 to receive a full refund. (ASH will waive the $25 processing fee.) Requests may be sent to the ASH Registration Center via:

I haven’t registered for the meeting yet. Are new registrations being accepted?
Yes, you may register for the meeting online. Once you register for the meeting, you will receive a Confirmation Number, which will be needed to make your hotel reservation.
HOUSING
I made a hotel reservation in New Orleans through the ASH Housing Center and I still want to attend the meeting in Atlanta. What do I do now?
There is no need to contact us to cancel your room in New Orleans. ASH will make every attempt to assign you to a comparable hotel room in Atlanta. The process is automatic and you should have been notified of your new assigned hotel at this point. If not, please contact the ASH Housing Center at ashhousing@jspargo.com, or by phone at 888-273-5704 (US and Canada) or 703-449-6418 (international).
As of the time the meeting was rescheduled, no room deposits made by credit card for New Orleans hotels had yet been charged, nor had check deposits been cashed.
How do I find out what hotels are available and close to the new meeting location?
I made a hotel reservation in New Orleans through the ASH Housing Center, but I don't want a hotel room in Atlanta. How do I cancel my room? Will I lose my deposit?

I made a hotel reservation on my own and I want to cancel my hotel reservation. Can ASH help me?
Unfortunately, if you did not make your reservation through the ASH Housing Center, it is your responsibility to cancel your reservation. ASH will be unable to assist you in this regard. Although it may be difficult to communicate with your New Orleans hotel, we recommend that you make an attempt and document your efforts.
AIR TRAVEL
I already made my flight arrangements for New Orleans. How do I change or cancel them?
MacNair Travel Management has been selected as the official travel agency for the American Society of Hematology’s 47th Annual Meeting. The agency will secure special discounts with the appropriate airlines servicing Atlanta, but will also search for the lowest fare available on any airline. We recommend that you make changes to your travel arrangements by contacting:

EDUCATION AND SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM
Will the annual meeting program change?
While we don’t anticipate major changes to the annual meeting schedule, substitutions for speakers may be necessary. Please check the ASH Web site for changes to the Education and Scientific Programs.
