ASH Publications and Meeting Materials

ASH News Daily
Four separate issues of ASH News Daily, covering the four days of the 2005 ASH Annual Meeting, will be provided at the Georgia World Congress Center, made available on all of the shuttle buses, and hand-delivered to the rooms of meeting attendees at select members only hotels. Each issue of ASH News Daily will highlight the day’s sessions and events, as well as provide information about Atlanta and the Georgia World Congress Center. In addition, the final three issues will contain detailed summaries of the previous day’s Education and Scientific Program sessions and abstract presentations written by distinguished ASH member authors.

ASH-SAP
The American Society of Hematology Self-Assessment Program (ASH-SAP) is a high-quality, CME-accredited educational product offering the latest advancements in the field of pediatric and adult hematology for hematologists, oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows, internists, and pediatricians. The ASH-SAP is the premier review resource in hematology, providing board preparation, recertification preparation, and 50 AMA PRA Category 1 credits.

The second edition of SAP includes both a printed syllabus divided into chapters dedicated to specific topical areas in hematology and a self-assessment test composed of more than 200 case-based, multiple-choice questions and critiques. Full-color images are included in both the text and the question book.

A companion Web site reflects the same information contained in the printed text and adds an interactive element to the self-assessment, allowing users to move back and forth between questions and critiques, chapter text, and illustrative slides with just a few mouse clicks. Full access to the interactive Web site is included in the SAP package price. Users can work through the case-based questions on the Web site, as well as claim their 50 category 1 CME credits online.

In addition, ASH-SAP integrates cutting-edge information with resources from other ASH educational products, such as the Image Bank, Education Program Book, and Blood. ASH-SAP is the only hematology self-assessment product available that addresses both adult and pediatric medicine. The ASH-SAP may be purchased on site at the ASH-SAP booth in the exhibit hall. Special discounts are available to ASH members and trainees.

ASH State-of-the-Art Symposia on CD-ROM
In response to requests from the ASH membership for smaller-format, clinically-based meetings to supplement the ASH annual meeting, ASH launched State-of-the-Art Symposia. These topical meetings are designed to offer the same high-quality educational and scientific content for which the ASH annual meeting is known, while allowing for networking and discussion that is only possible in a meeting with a limited attendance. The September 2004 meeting provided an update in hematologic malignancies, the April 2005 meeting covered the topics of venous and arterial thrombosis, and a lymphoma and myeloma State-of-the-Art Symposium is scheduled for September 2005.

If you missed the live speaker presentations given at these events, you may purchase State-of-the-Art Symposium CD-ROMs with accompanying audio. Copies of the CD-ROMs are $35 for ASH members and $175 for non-members.
