Lymphoma and Myeloma: Recent Advances in Biology and Therapy

Lymphoma and myeloma are two of the most rapidly evolving areas in modern medicine. This clinically-focused course will provide hematologists, medical oncologists, and internists with the information they need to provide cutting-edge care to patients.
Friday, September 23 – Saturday, September 24, 2005

At this latest installment of the American Society of Hematology’s State-of-the-Art Symposia, attendees will learn about recent therapeutic advances, new biologic and molecular insights in disease pathogenesis, and the latest targeted treatments for lymphoma and myeloma through didactic lectures presented by renowned leaders in the field. Participants will have multiple opportunities to talk with these experts during the interactive discussion time following each lecture, during small group roundtables and case management discussions, and at the exhibit hall reception. Please click here for a detailed agenda.
Only a limited attendance will be permitted to register for this interactive event. Participants may register for the meeting one of two ways:
Register online using our secure registration site with your Mastercard or Visa.
Complete the mail-in registration form for American Express or check payments.
Register before August 1 and receive a complimentary CD-ROM with the full program from the September 2004 SAS, Update in Hematologic Malignancies.

At the completion of the symposium, participants should be able to:
• Discuss biological and molecular advances in the treatment of multiple myeloma, including initial therapy and therapeutic sequencing as well as emerging and novel therapies.
• Understand the role of autologous stem cell transplantation in the treatment of multiple myeloma, follicular non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
• Explain the decision-making process and current therapies used in treating non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
• Review biologic and clinical subsets of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, the implications for prognosis, and current therapeutic approaches.
• Identify standard treatment approaches for early and advanced stage Hodgkin lymphoma.
ASH would like to acknowledge the many individuals involved in the program planning process. In addition to the invited session chairs and speakers, the ASH State-of-the-Art Symposium: Lymphoma and Myeloma: Recent Advances in Biology and Therapy would not be possible without the creativity and hard work of the following members who have generously volunteered their time to put together this outstanding program.
