I know that he was very dedicated to ASH and would have been pleased that your group has undertaken this project. Dr. Tullis and my father, Allen Latham, Jr., worked together on research with the original Cohn blood fractionator. I dated and eventually married Dr. Tullis' daughter Virginia, but it was only several weeks after we started dating that our parents realized it was that Tullis and that Latham.

Reading about Grandpa's career was a real treat, because as a true crusty Bostonian--proud but humble--he would have thought it bad form to ever talk about his own considerable accomplishments. (Unfortunately, I managed to inherit none of his scientific acumen and all of his hairline.)
