NIH Roadmap for Medical Research

NIH Rapid Access to Interventional Development (NIH-RAID Pilot) Program

NIH Obesity Research
NIH seeks to identify genetic, behavioral, and environmental causes of obesity as well as to understand how obesity leads to serious health problems, such as deep vein thrombosis. To the hematologist, obesity is an apparently independent important risk factor for thrombosis, and there are few, if any, studies looking at platelet and endothelial cell function in obesity, either with or without the contribution of diabetes.
