Each year, ASH awards over $2 million in educational grants to young scientists.
- Honorific Awards
The Society's highest honors recognize significant contributions
to the field of hematology made by individual ASH members.

Created to reward outstanding mentors in the hematology community.

Development Awards
- Alternative Training Pathway Grant
Grant intended to foster the development and implementation of creative new curricula for trainees in clinical and clinical/translational hematology and related fields.
- ASH Research Training Award for Fellows
Provides funding to fellows in hematology, hematology/oncology, or hematology-related training programs who need protected time to perform research during fellowship training.
- ASH Scholar Awards
Provides talented researchers with the financial support critical during the
transitional period between completion of training and achievement of status
as an independent investigator.
- Clinical Research Training Institute
Prepares hematologists for careers in patient-oriented clinical research through
a year-long education and mentoring program
- Minority Medical Student Award Program (MMSAP)
Encourages the exploration of hematology research as a career for minority
students from the United States and Canada in their early medical school years
- Trainee Research Award
Provides support for medical students, residents, and undergraduates in the
form of $4,000 for a three-month research project and $1,000 for travel to
the Society's annual meeting
- Travel and Merit Awards
Provides $500 awards to select abstract presenters to help defray annual meeting
travel expenses
- Visiting Trainee Program
Established to provide learning opportunities and training at host institutions
for hematologists from emerging nations
