In 1980 when I was at the New York Blood Center, Dr.Thomas presented a lecture at the Sloan-Kettering Institute. That lecture - 'his' fascinating history of bone marrow transplantation - somehow changed my life.Two years later I was received by him in Seattle for a long observorship. 20 years later I would perform my first transplant in Brazil.
