Registration for the 60th ASH Annual Meeting in San Diego, California, will open in July 2018 for ASH members and August 2018 for non-members.

To register and obtain housing during early-bird member-only registration, please ensure your membership is active at the time registration opens. View important membership application deadlines.

How to Register

To begin the online registration process for the 60th ASH Annual Meeting, you will need your ASH username (your email address, unless you have changed it) and password. If someone else is registering for the meeting on your behalf, please provide him/her with your log-in credentials to ensure your registration is processed quickly.

Don't have an ASH username or password? You can create an account when you begin the registration process. If you have forgotten your username or password, you may reset them when you register.

Please note that you must register for the ASH annual meeting before you make your hotel reservation.

On-site Registration Hours

On-site registration will be available in the Sails Pavilion of the San Diego Convention Center during the times listed below. To avoid lines at the on-site registration counters, ASH encourages you to register for the meeting in advance.

Registration Fee Information

You must be an ASH member at the time of registration to receive the member rate. Applicants approved for membership after registering for the meeting will not be refunded the difference between the member and non-member rates. View important membership application deadlines.

The following are included with registration. Please note that spouse/guest registrants are eligible only for the events marked with an asterisk.

  • Access to the ASH annual meeting app and online scheduler
  • Admission to the General, Special-Interest, Education, Scientific, Oral, and Poster Sessions
  • Admission to the exhibit hall*
  • Admission to receptions in the poster hall*
  • Complimentary light lunch in the exhibit hall on Sunday and Monday*
  • Daily coffee breaks*

Access to the ASH annual meeting webcasts is not included with registration. Webcasts may be pre-ordered at a discounted rate during the annual meeting registration process or on site.

Registration fees may be paid by credit card or by check only. Wire transfers will not be accepted.

1To register as a non-member in training, you must register and submit your verification by October 31. After this date, you will need to register as a non-member, meaning you will not get access to trainee activities and services. View additional registration information for non-members in training.

2The allied health professional category is for individuals without a doctoral degree who provide direct patient care. Individuals with an MD, PhD, or PharmD degree do not qualify for this category because they are eligible for ASH membership. These individuals should register in the member or non-member category based upon their current membership status. View additional registration information for allied health professionals.

Registration Badges

Meeting badges will be mailed in mid-November to all those who registered by October 31.

If you do not receive your badge prior to the meeting, please pick up your badge and meeting materials on site. Multiple meeting materials pick-up areas will be available, including in the following locations:

  • San Diego International Airport – Terminal 1 and 2 (New this year!)
  • San Diego Convention Center
  • Select hotels

Group Registration

Group registration opens on August 8, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Eastern time.

The benefits of registering as a group include:

  • Register multiple delegates using one unique email address
  • Receive one invoice for the entire group
  • Ensure that all group communications are sent to the group leader
  • Arrange badge and meeting materials pick up for the entire group
  • Manage changes for all delegates in the group

Meeting Cancellation Policy

ASH reserves the right to modify or cancel any or all activities associated with this meeting due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event that ASH must unexpectedly cancel this meeting, the full registration fee, minus a processing charge, will be returned to each registrant.back to top

Registration Cancellation Policy

Cancellations and substitutions must be submitted online. There will be a $75 fee for cancellations received on or before Tuesday, November 20, 2018. No refunds will be granted after this date.

If you have extenuating circumstances that prevent you from attending, you are welcome to petition for an exception to this policy. To do so, please email the ASH Registration Center at ashregistration@spargoinc.com to explain your situation and include any documentation to support your case (documentation is optional but recommended). These petitions must be submitted by Wednesday, December 19, 2018, to be considered. The decision regarding your petition may take up to one month after the event.

All registration cancellations and refunds will be processed in the same manner as original payment: if paid by credit card the refund will be issued to the card on record, generally within five to seven business days of the request. Payments made by check will be refunded as a check within 45 days of the close of the meeting.

Membership Application Deadlines

You must be a member to register at the member rate. Below are the cutoff dates by which you must apply in order to be approved as a member prior to the meeting.

Please note: Applicants approved for membership after registering for the meeting will not be refunded the difference between the member and non-member rates. This includes membership through the ASH Fundamentals for Hematology Fellows program.

Special Registration Instructions

Non-Member in Training

To register as a non-member in training and receive the advance registration rate, you must register and submit your verification by October 31. Non-member-in-training registrations will not be accepted after October 31. Any non-member in training who registers after this deadline will be registered as a non-member and charged the non-member rate.

After you complete the registration process, an email will automatically be sent to your program director or school counselor requesting a signed verification letter on official letterhead confirming that you are a trainee. This verification letter is required and should be uploaded in PDF format using the link provided in the email. Your registration will not be official until ASH confirms your training status. If you registered in the non-member-in-training category last year and are still enrolled in the same training program, you do not need to send a letter verifying your enrollment status.

The following individuals are eligible to register as non-members in training:

  • Undergraduate students
  • Graduate and medical students
    During the online registration process, you will need to provide:
    • Name of your university/institution
    • Name and contact information for your school counselor
    • Field of study
    • Program start date and expected date of graduation (month and year)
  • Medical residents
    During the online registration process, you will need to provide:
    • Name of the program in which you are enrolled
    • Program director's name and contact information
    • Length of the program (in years)
    • Program start date and expected completion date (month and year)
  • Post-doctoral fellows with an MD or PhD in a recognized hematology or oncology training program
    During the online registration process, you will need to provide:
    • Name of the program in which you are enrolled
    • Program director's name and contact information
    • Length of the program (in years)
    • Program start date (month and year)
    • Expected program completion date (month and year)

Allied Health Professional

The allied health professional category is for individuals without a doctoral degree who provide direct patient care.

Individuals with an MD, PhD, or PharmD degree do not qualify for this category because they are eligible for ASH membership. These individuals should register in the member or non-member category based upon their current membership status. All ASH members receive discounted rates at the annual meeting.

The following individuals are eligible to register as allied health professionals: nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physician assistants, clinical nurse specialists, and pharmacists without a PharmD. Others may also be eligible if they provide direct patient care as noted below.

In registering as an allied health professional, you agree to provide evidence prior to the meeting that you:

  • Devote 50 percent or more of your professional activity and time to the direct care and treatment of patients, and
  • Function as an integral member of a team caring for patients.

To verify status as an allied health professional, the registrant must provide a letter, on institutional letterhead, from his/her immediate supervisor confirming the following:

  • The name of the organization
  • The registrant's position
  • The percentage of activity and time devoted to the direct care and treatment of patients
  • A copy of a state license with expiration date thru the end of the conference

Verification confirming the registrant professional status is required and should be uploaded (in PDF format) prior to arrival on site. In order to be officially registered for the meeting, ASH must confirm the registrant’s status. Individuals who do not provide verification will be charged the non-member registration rate.

Spouse/Guest

Spouses and guests are welcome to register for the ASH annual meeting. They will receive a badge that allows access to the exhibit hall, including daily coffee breaks and boxed lunches on Sunday and Monday, the Saturday evening welcome reception, and Sunday and Monday poster hall receptions.

Spouse/guest registration does not include entrance to the Education and Scientific Program sessions or poster viewing sessions, nor does it include meeting materials.

Registration Benefits for ASH Foundation Donors

The following annual meeting registration benefits are offered in appreciation of donor generosity. Please note that donation processing takes approximately two to three weeks. Individual gift recognition and associated benefits are provided once donation processing is completed.

  • ASH members with cumulative giving of $1,000 or more for the current calendar year to date qualify to register during the VIP registration period (earlier than ASH members) and get first access to annual meeting hotels.
  • Non-members with cumulative giving of $10,000 or more for the current calendar year to date qualify to register during the VIP registration period (earlier than ASH members) and get first access to annual meeting hotels.
  • Non-members with cumulative giving of $1,000 to $9,999 for the current calendar year to date qualify to register during ASH member-only registration and have early access to annual meeting hotels during the member-only registration period.
